Steve’s Journey to Leadership Coaching
As an ex-Royal Air Force veteran, Steve is well versed in leadership roles and responsibilities. Having served 26 years in the UK Air Force, he honed his skills of conflict resolution, creative problem solving, effective communication, and much more through direct, field experience.
His skills as a Basic Recruit Instructor (Drill Sergeant) required an innate ability to select those who are leaders and those who could be taught to lead. Often himself having been put in the most demanding conditions a human can experience, Steve’s contribution to the Royal Air Force was of vital importance. His 26 year tenure in military service not only provided himself with experience as a leadership trainer, but his knowledge was passed down through recruits thereafter.
After the tough decision to leave the military lifestyle and resettle abroad in Australia, Steve posed himself a question. Can my experiences have a positive impact on others? Can I inspire others to lead and offer value?
He set out to condense his years of experience within leadership, as well as incorporating foundational knowledge of human behaviour. Over the past 35 years, Steve has been sharing and teaching these life lessons through his various programs, workshops and public speeches.
Steve works with both small and large organisations and business, their teams, their management teams and their staff to build better outcomes for greater good of the business, their clients and their people.
Working with leaders in business, Steve identified that a knowledge gap between the executive and the team leaders existed. He found that within companies, obstacles and problems arose that could not be solved with basic Leadership training that is being used widely - online platforms, one day workshops etc.. what is really needed direct intervention and facilitation with decision makers. Steve discovered that these leaders are screaming out for the guidance, training, or mentoring to refine their skills and start dealing with the problems effectively. Which in turn returns the harmony between execs and their team Leaders.
Coupled with his extensive military background and 25 years of leadership experience, Steve Barker Leadership Coaching was created to serve the executives, leaders, and decision makers in businesses.

The outcomes of the training session are aimed to provide the knowledge and easy to implement strategies to overcome the day to day problems all teams and businesses experience.
